Diary of an NQT: I wouldn’t change a thing!

In his final entry of the year, our NQT diarist looks at why his year has been successful and offers a few tips for next year’s NQT cohort

That’s it. The end of my NQT year is upon me and this is my final diary entry for SecEd.

Next week, I am out of school all week on the much loved practice Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition with year 12.

Then I am back in school for another five days before shooting off to the Caribbean island of Dominica for our biology trip with Operation Wallacea. Which, if you ask me, isn’t a bad way to finish off my first year of “proper teaching”.

I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 10 months and really wouldn’t change a thing about them. I am a much better teacher than I was this time last year and I have no doubt that I will be a much better teacher by this time next year.
