Diary of an NQT: Stepping up to leadership

Our NQT diarist continues with examination preparation but is also thinking about the leadership opportunities offered by a forthcoming school trip

The moderation day in the middle of last week – about which I was getting a little anxious – was, in the end, a really nice way to break up the first week back after the recent school holidays.

If only we could have a Wednesday every week to catch up with work and administration tasks!

As I had hoped in last week’s diary entry, it turned out that I had worked myself up over nothing in regards to the moderation day.

Essentially, I was worried about my marking being marked by my colleagues. In the end, we reviewed lots of pieces of controlled assessment and a few went up or down by one or two marks. Of the pieces that we looked at that I had marked, none needed altering!
