Next week is Anti-Bullying Week (November 14 to 18). This annual event has never been more important and I would urge all schools to plan some discussions, activities or events to embrace and mark it.

Not only does the week provide the perfect opportunity to refresh your school’s approach to tackling and preventing bullying, including perhaps updating your school’s anti-bullying policy, but it also is a chance to tackle that most pressing of issues – mental health.

While much has been done to raise the profile of mental health in recent years, research continues to show that the stigma associated with mental health is still getting in the way.
