The first year since the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) has already passed, and early years practitioners across the country are weighing up the impact the framework has had on their setting so far.
While many in the sector confessed to feeling daunted about the framework in the build-up to implementation, recent research by Early Education suggests that most childcare practitioners now support it (NW, news, 12 August).
Given the first review of the framework is due in 2010, now seemed a good time to ask some settings for their verdict on what is working well and what could be improved.
