CPD HIGHLIGHTS AT THE SHOW

Don’t miss the dynamic CPD content on offer. Curated by the Nursery World editorial team, choose from 23 CPD-certified Seminars, a half-day Masterclass and brand-new Nursery World Debate.

With seminars from leading early years names such as Penny Tassoni, Alice Sharp and Dr Stella Louis among others, each of the 23 seminars are CPD certified and will sell-out – so make your CPD count and book your seminars.

Ofsted’s Wendy Ratcliffe seminar ‘The Ofsted inspection framework: an update’ will offer insight into the experiences of settings already inspected under the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) so your setting can be better prepared for your next Ofsted visit.

Masterclass, ‘Supporting the communication and language needs of all children’, is chaired by Nursery World editor Karen Faux, who will be joined by sector experts – Dr Julian Grenier, headteacher of Sheringham Nursery School (pictured), Kerry Murphy, early childhood and SEND Specialist, and Penny Tassoni MBE, early years consultant and author – to address strategies for identifying and supporting children’s communication and language development. A must for practitioners seeking to rebalance the impact of lockdowns on children’s speech and language.

The Masterclass will run between 9:30am and 12:30pm on 29 April.

The all-new Nursery World Debate – ‘The power of play’ – is chaired by Liz Roberts, Nursery World’s editor-in-chief. Joining Liz is play expert Dr Pete King of Swansea University, Dr Stella Louis, early years consultant and author, and Sarah Watkins, Forest School leader and university lecturer. They will help the participants understand and grasp the significance of children’s play and how to respond effectively to it. The debate will run between 9:30 and11:30am on 30 April.

This is just a smattering of the CPD on offer. The packed seminar programme also features speakers including Dr Lala Manners, Pauline Emmins, Tim Lings, Beverley Kellet, Dr Fufy Demissie, Judith Twani, Marina Robb, Jon Cree, Catherine McLeod, Alison Featherbe, Tamsin Grimmer and Liz Pemberton – covering areas such as Forest schools, Maths, Equality and diversity, Frobelian education, Self-regulation, Positive relationships, Inclusion, Assessment, ICT, Learning journeys and much more

All seminars are highly practical so participants can take what they have learned and immediately apply it to their practice. All seminars are CPD registered. Booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.

New for 2022

Exciting new special features this year include a Best Practice Clinic and a PlayZone.

All of us face challenges in our roles and settings, so with partners the EYA, NDNA and PACEY, we have designed a Best Practice Clinic where sector experts will be on hand to provide support and advice on a wide range of issues. No need to book an appointment, practitioners of all levels are welcome to drop in for answers to ‘burning early years questions’.

Nothing engages children’s attention like outdoor, so we have created a fantastic 100 square meter PlayZone at the very front of the Show. Take some time to browse the incredible selection of outdoor play equipment from partners TTS and the School Renovation Company.

Another exclusive to the Nursery World Show is the Famly Children’s Champion Award Announcement. Stay tuned – at 1:15pm on Friday, 29 April, the UK and Ireland’s very best Early Educator will be crowned and presented with their £5,000 prize.
