How can a young child please both nursery workers and her parents? Dr Maria Robinson offers advice.

Q A little girl aged three years has just started at our nursery whose family have recently moved into the area. We are having real problems with her, as she is very strong willed and finds it difficult to share and play with anyone or listen to us. To be honest, she is a bit of a bully! When we did a home visit, we learned that she had been ill for some months after she was born, although now she seems absolutely fine. Her parents appear to give her everything she wants and seem reluctant to say no to her and just say she is a 'character' and laugh when she refuses to do something.'
