4Children names early years head

The charity 4Children has appointed Sue Robb as head of early years, to lead the organisation's policy work on early years, including its new Government-funded Early Years Strategic Programme.

Anne Longfield, chief executive of 4Children, said, 'We are thrilled to have someone with Sue's experience and standing joining us to help us deliver our early years work.'

Ms Robb said she was 'delighted to be joining 4Children at this exciting time in the charity's development'.

Ms Robb has been early years senior director with National Strategies for the past three years, giving support and resources to early years settings. She began her career as a teacher and then took on a headteachership.

She will be tasked with co-ordinating 4Children's Early Years Strategic Programme, which is funded by the Department of Education with the aim of building communication and support across the early years sector.
