A month in the life of Jasmine Maya

PART 24:23 months old The (sometimes) literal understanding and interpretation of a toddler was demonstrated beautifully one evening this month when Jasmine was being put to bed. Her usual routine is to help clear up any toys and then get into bed. When the adult with her remarked that there were no toys to put away, Jasmine instantly emptied out one of her toy boxes! She then helped clear them away again, as usual.

The (sometimes) literal understanding and interpretation of a toddler was demonstrated beautifully one evening this month when Jasmine was being put to bed. Her usual routine is to help clear up any toys and then get into bed. When the adult with her remarked that there were no toys to put away, Jasmine instantly emptied out one of her toy boxes! She then helped clear them away again, as usual.

Jasmine's vocabulary is increasing fast. Some words are very clear, for example fish, bee, car, tissue, while others are less grammatically correct but can be understood quite easily, such as 'ser rubbish' (here is some rubbish), 'dut der door? (shall I shut the door?), 'do der door' (open the door). Jasmine also refers to drawing as 'dawdee', and pats her tummy, saying 'beebee' (baby).
