Classic FM presenter Aled Jones has been announced as the presenter of this year’s Music & Drama Education Awards, celebrating the outstanding achievements of teachers, school departments, individuals, resources, organisations and charities working in performing arts education.
As the host of the most listened to show on Sunday on Classic FM – the headline sponsor of the Awards – Jones has also presented BBC1’s Songs of Praise for nearly 20 years, while establishing an extensive career as a TV and radio presenter.
Jones has received an MBE for his work, having released more than 40 albums and securing over 40 Silver Gold and Platinum discs.
The esteemed presenter began his career at the age of 12 where he released 12 successful albums over four years, featuring in ‘Walking in the Air’ in the animated film The Snowman.
The shortlist has recently been announced for the awards, chosen by a panel of expert judges from across the music and drama education sectors. The winners will be revealed on an awards evening hosted by Jones on 23 February 2023.
