The coalition, named the Family Room, is co-ordinated by the Family and Parenting Institute and includes the charities Relate, Gingerbread, the Fatherhood Institute and Parentline Plus.
It is calling on politicians to end child poverty by 2020, saying 'good outcomes for children and families will never be achieved unless poverty and inequality are addressed'.
Mary MacLeod, FPI's chief executive, said, 'Our 12 organisations have come together at a critical time. The country is facing tough economic decisions and whichever party wins the general election, there will be public service spending cuts.
'We are urging all political parties to remember the importance of families and invest in their well-being. This manifesto reflects the measures all of us agree need to happen to help families, particularly when they go through difficult times.'
