Alliance workload pressures survey goes live

Business
Early years workers can have their say on paperwork in a survey being carried out by the Early Years Alliance with Ofsted and the Department for Education.

The aim of the survey is to better understand what paperwork is causing leaders, managers and practitioners the most stress at work.

It is in response to findings from the Alliance’s 2018 Minds Matter report on mental health and well-being which found that 78 per cent of practitioners considered paperwork and administration as being regular sources of stress.

Ahead of the launch of the survey, the Alliance held a series of focus groups to gather information from practitioners about workload demands.

Responses to the survey, which closes on Friday 3 May, will remain anonymous.

Neil Leitch, chief executive of the Early Years Alliance, said, ‘I constantly hear from managers and practitioners about workload stress and the impact it has on their quality of life at work and at home. It’s important we find out what’s causing it, and even more important we do something to change it.
