nThe project 'journeys' is one that is a predictable centre of interest for all children. It is a project that clearly offers opportunities to build on children's recent experiences and prior knowledge as each child will be making at least two journeys every single day, to and from the setting!
Beyond the routines of everyday life, it is also a project that can be enhanced through imaginary play, and which can easily be threaded through the key strands of continuous provision. It is also an excellent theme for promoting the effective use of the outdoor area. Thoughtful planning on the part of the adults could help children see meaningful links between both indoor and outdoor play opportunities.
