Observation in setting
Suki (three years, two months), playing in the sand area, used a spoon to mix sand and water in a plastic cup. She explained, 'I'm making baby food for Leo - Mummy does that and I help her, because I'm a big girl.' Suki later told her keyworker that there was going to be a big party at her house and 'lots of people are coming'.
Information from home
Suki's parents report that she is keen to be involved with the care of baby Leo and passes them the nappies, wipes and cream at changing time. They say that she likes to put Leo's nappies on her teddy while they are changing Leo. Her mother also tells Suki's keyworker that Leo's christening has been planned to take place at the weekend and that the family are busy planning for this celebration.
