Call for more nanny registration

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation is calling for a tightening up of the registration process for nannies on the Ofsted voluntary register, in response to the Parliamentary Education Committee's inquiry into the role and performance of Ofsted.

REC says a number of flaws in the current system mean that unqualified nannies are going unnoticed, as they are not asked to provide documentary evidence at the application stage. REC also suggests introducing a mandatory register for nannies as an alternative.
