To take part, children must create their own picture of Miffy at home, downloaded from the Book Aid website, ready to bring to their setting along with a £1 donation on World Book Day.
The more money settings raise for the charity, the more books they receive. For every £2 raised, a book will be sent to children living in Africa.
For inspiration for fun activities the Nurture Store website, run by outstanding childminder Cathy James, has loads of great last-minute ideas to celebrate your favourite books.
Book supplier Tidy Books is also running a competition, asking people to nominate either their favourite book as a child or a book that changed their life, to enter the free prize draw to win a Tidy Books bookcase. For every four nominations on its Facebook page, Tidy Books will donate a book to the charity. Visit http://www.tidy-books.com/special-offer/
