Childcare Student of the Year finalists wait to hear who's won

The four finalists for the Pearson/Nursery World Childcare Student of the Year Award 2012 are eagerly awaiting the naming of the winner at the Nursery World Awards ceremony on 28 September.

The students are:

Hannah Burgon - NVQ Level 2 Children and Young People's Workforce, Toad Hall Nursery

Jennifer Houghton - CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education, Cheadle & Marple Sixth Form College

Anthony Toye - CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education, Ystrad Mynach College

Sarah Travis - BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development, Skelmersdale Ormskirk College

Each was entered for the awards by their tutor and has taken part in a rigorous judging process to find and reward high-achieving students who wil be the excellent practitioners of the future. Those who reached the longlist submitted examples of their course work, and the final four attended a judging day at Pearson's offices in Oxford, led by Penny Tassoni, with NW Editor Liz Roberts, Bright Horizons' Nicola Amies and Pearson's Virginia Carter.
