The winner of the Heinemann/Nursery World Childcare Student of the Year 2009 is Abbey Wood (far right), who has just finished the Diploma in Childcare and Education at Ryton Comprehensive School, Tyne and Wear. The other finalists were Hannah Lindley from Huddersfield New College, Lizzie Wavell from Bertram Nursery Group's Celtic Cross nursery in Aberdeenshire, and Sadia Hussain from Filton College, Bristol.
