Children 1st Day Nurseries, which operates 23 settings, has taken over the running of a nursery on a school site in Nottingham.

The nursery group has partnered with the L.E.A.D Academy Trust to run its 70-place setting at its Jubilee Academy in Bilborough, Nottingham. The nursery will be known as Children 1st @ Bilborough.

This is Children 1st’s fifth nursery in Nottinghamshire. The nursery group also runs settings in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Staffordshire.

Children 1st has undertaken a complete refurbishment of the nursery, as well as extended the opening hours to provide year-round care, bringing it in line with the rest of the group.

With this nursery, Children 1st operates 24 settings, providing care for 2,356 children.

Margaret Mason, founder and chief executive of Children 1st Day Nurseries said,  ‘The L.E.A.D Academy Trust run excellent settings and has a proven track record of successfully improving underperforming schools. We share the same ethos and hope that our work in Bilborough will be the start of a beneficial partnership that will help ensure that children have access to excellent educational opportunities in high quality settings from six weeks to 16 years old.
