Children's art at the chalk face

Child Development Families
Every year the Whitechapel Gallery in London invites a contemporary artist to create new work for the Children's Art Commission.

This year, artists Simon and Tom Bloor will turn the walls into an interactive chalk board. Visitors can draw on the walls with hand-made chalk sculptures, made in workshops with children from Hermitage Primary School in Tower Hamlets.

On Saturday 20 April, Simon and Tom will guest-curate More Loose Parts, a family day at the gallery. Artists Alexander Edwards and Ella Phillips will run workshops that explore the potential of creative play.

The project runs from 19 March to 9 June.
