The plan was published last week and further details are to follow next month. Part of the 3.3m will be used to support local workforce strategies to deliver areas of the Children's and Young People's Plan.
Jane Haywood, CWDC chief executive, said, 'This may include support for a local childminding network or training for foster carers.'
Priorities include delivering training and assessment for the new Early Years Professional status and setting up a helpline to offer professional advice. The CWDC will also be looking at how pay and conditions affect staff turnover.
It will also develop qualifications and standards for the workforce, building on the Integrated Qualifications Framework, National Occupational Standards and the Common Induction Standards.
Jane Haywood and chair Estelle Morris will be embarking on nine regional tours to gather opinions from the workforce and discuss the various projects. Ms Haywood said, 'The CWDC has undergone a rapid period of expansion and our Business Plan sets out a challenging programme of work for the next year.
'We will be working on a number of exciting projects to help the sector deliver the very best for our children, young people and families, and we are looking forward to discussing these and gaining feedback from the workforce on our regional tours.'
