As MP for Birmingham Erdington, Dromey was involved in actively campaigning for many years on issues affecting the early years sector and children.
As secretary of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Nursery Schools, Nursery and Reception Classes, he campaigned for more long-term sustainable funding.
