The forum was introduced during Children in Scotland's four-day study visit and seminar, 'Working for Inclusion: the diversity dimension', when delegates from across Europe visited ten of Scotland's leading early years provisions to look at diversity in disability, additional support for learning and gender diversity in the workplace.
The visit and forum are part of a two-year programme called 'Working for Inclusion: the role of the early years workforce in addressing poverty and promoting social inclusion'. This aims to encourage discussion, debate and information sharing among ten EU member states.
It will focus on early childhood education and care systems and four themes: the child as a protagonist; working with diversity; rural and remote areas; and working in an inclusive way.
