This issue we have taken a distinctly summery theme, by concentrating on outdoor activities. If you are taking the babies out for a picnic, you'll need something in which to carry all the essentials, including their bottles. We have tracked down some really cool containers in the most literal sense. See page 14.
Sand and water play is available all year round, but seems much more fun when you take it outside. There are lots of new tables around, so take your pick from the selection on page 16.
Nursery schools and preschools usually like to organise a special outing during the summer term and there's no need to be stuck for ideas. Museums and art galleries used to be off limits to young children but now many have activities for the early years. You may be pleasantly surprised at what's available in your area, so check out the venues we mention on page 18.
Finally, for out-of-school clubs having problems coaxing children outside on sunny days, consider how to make the playground more interesting and challenging. The large structures featured on page 28 are irresistible!
Once again, we also have plenty of product reviews. Turn to page 20 to find out which items got a big thumbs up from our testers and which were not so hot. If you would like to be a tester, write to me at the address below, stating your job title, the age range of the children and, most importantly, a daytime telephone number.
Have a lovely summer.
