Professor Melhuish told Nursery World that the Government should consider adopting this sort of approach nationally as part of a package of measures to improve quality of care, which should give encouragement to all those nursery employers keen to invest in their workforce.
And Bright Horizons Family Solutions can also feel proud of its achievement in being named in the 50 '2006 Best Workplaces in the UK' published in the Financial Times. Happy staff definitely help to make happy children in nurseries.
If you feel that your daycare setting deserves recognition for the high quality of its service, make sure you get next week's Nursery World with the entry form for this year's Nursery of the Year Award, sponsored by Morton Michel Insurance. As well as the glory, you could win a share of 5,000 of prizes from Community Playthings.
