There was a flurry of activity from Government, too, before parliamentwent into recess, with 1 billion extra funding promised under theComprehensive Spending Review to support the development of extendedschools (News, page 4). Not so much for joy for teaching assistants,however, with a new survey into their pay and conditions finding lots ofroom for improvement (News, page 6).
