is the short answer!

Those headteachers wary of involvement in the programme, afraid that it will add to an already onerous workload, should take note of our case study, Wychall Primary School in Birmingham, which won Extended School Team of the Year in the recent Childcare Stars Awards. Wychall is a tremendous advertisement for the benefits of becoming an extended school and exemplifies the best of multi-agency working. While understanding much more about the roles that other team members play in providing services for children, each now has much more opportunity to do the specific job they were taken on to do - with greatly improved results for the children.

We've had some fabulous prizes on offer lately - and this issue of Nursery World is no exception. See page 19 for your chance to win a 1,000 sensory space, particularly useful for working with children with special needs.
