The nursery group of 13 settings has partnered with the psychologist and neuroscientist, who will work closely with its head of education, to give practitioners a deeper understanding of child development.
Sam Wass will use findings from his own research into types of home environments that influence children, the ways in which different early years settings affect children and how their brains engage with learning tasks differently when they are doing them on their own compared to when they are with others, when working with the nursery group.
There will also be an emphasis placed on the effects of digital media on children, how they are affected by stress, as well as a range of other topics covering early years learning including concentration and language development.
Rageena Tahir, head of education at Fennies, said, ‘We are delighted to be working closely with Sam Wass; his expertise in child development will have a profound impact on the educational offering, staff training, and overall learning journey at Fennies.’
