The Trust’s Bookbug programme, designed to encourage parents and children to share books together, sees all children from birth- to-five in Scotland receive free books.
The Bookbug packs for babies and toddlers are distributed via a health visitor, while three-year-olds receive their free books - 'a Pirate pack' - at nursery.
Children aged five are given a Family Pack of books by their school. The books are made up of the three shortlisted books from the Bookbug category of the Scottish Children's Book Awards 2015. They are given out during Book Week Scotland, an annual event, taking place this year on 24-30 November.
The books chosen for the 2014/15 Bookbug packs for babies, toddlers and three-year-olds, distributed between April 2014 and April 2015, are:

- Peekaboo Park by Emily Bolam
- Little Book of Little Babies by Antonia Miller (pictured)

The Scottish Book Trust is also encouraging parents and early years settings in Scotland to sign up for Bookbug Week 2014 on 19-25 May. The theme this year is 'Big Sports Day'.
During the week there will be hundreds of free rhyming, singing and book events across Scotland for children aged birth-four and their mothers and fathers.
