The free to download resource, published by Connect Childcare, includes contributions from nursery group chief executives Jennie Johnson, Cheryl Hadland and June O’Sullivan, early years consultants Kathy Brodie, Alison Featherbe and Alistair Bryce-Clegg, as well as Nursery World Lifetime Achievement award winner David Wright and editor Karen Faux.

Entitled ‘The ABC of Early Years Education’, the guide covers topics including – emotions, wellbeing, technology, outdoor play, inclusivity, sustainability, nutrition and data security.

Chief executive of Connect Childcare Chris Reid said, ‘One of the many amazing things about the early years sector is that it is caring and collaborative in its approach. And we wanted to capture this in one easy-to-digest guide.

‘It is designed to educate, inform, and inspire current and future generations of early years professionals – from nursery managers and practitioners to childminders and after-school club providers. We hope the sector will find it useful.’

Contributing author, June O’Sullivan, chief executive of LEYF, added, ‘When approached to take part in this project, I was really excited.

‘I saw it as an opportunity to contribute to something which embodies what the sector is all about – sharing knowledge to foster best practice and create the best possible environment to develop the young children in our care. And that is powerful stuff.’
