The Big Lottery Fund is looking for innovative projects that will help improve the way children and young people play in their neighbourhoods via Playful Ideas, the new Lottery good cause programme.
There is 16m of funding with grants of between 10,000 and Pounds 250,000 available in England until 31 December 2007.
Stephen Dunmore, Big Lottery Fund chief executive, said, 'With the Playful Ideas programme, we are focusing on innovation. We want ideas that are new and different, that challenge and stimulate children.
'In addition, under the Children's Play programme there is a 124m for local authority areas in England for local play schemes that have already proved popular, like BMX and skateboard parks, mobile play teams and small public playgrounds.'
