To investigate using the sense of touch and to talk about features of natural objects

To explore descriptive language making up some of their own words. Adult:child ratio 1:4.

Resources

Four broad sticks or twigs lashed together in a square, with dried grasses or undyed wool; a range of natural objects and materials, such as cones, shells, bark, dried flower-heads, sponge, unspun wool, acorns, feathers; length of hessian material; strong thread; child-safe scissors.

Preparation

* Construct the frame and select a safe but accessible place to hang it.
