Build up a collection with the help of parents and staff and from boot sales and charity shops. Enlist helpers to convert pillowcases into drawstring bags and to create simple bags in interesting fabrics. Make sure that all bags are thoroughly clean before using them.

Let's get talking Encourage children's speaking and listening skills as you explore your bag collection together.

* Gather together a selection of bags ranging from small (make-up) to large (sports bag). Put each inside the other in the style of Russian dolls and invite the children to remove one bag at a time and talk about how it might be used.
