School buildings
'Health, cleanliness, and an orderly harmonious physical life are a part of education,' said Mrs Oliver Strachey at a meeting held in the House of Commons last week to discuss the recently launched Ten-Year Plan for children. In brief, the plan has been formulated to cover the rebuilding or reconditioning of our elementary schools with the special provision of nursery school conditions in the Infants' departments. A survey has been made of existing elementary school-buildings, and only 20 per cent of these have been found up to the standard set by the new schools built in 1935.
