Join in the fun at National Children's Day 2020

National Children’s Day UK returns on Sunday 17 May 2020.

The sixth annual National Children's Day UK (NCDUK) focuses on the importance of a healthy childhood and how to protect the rights and freedoms of children.

The aim of NCDUK is to get as many people as possible across families, organisations, and communities to create events and activities that highlight the importance of healthy, happy childhoods and celebrate the work that is going on nationwide to support child and family well-being.

In 2020, those participating in NCDUK can sign up to run a big or small event in the week leading up to the day itself. These events could be small family outings, whole school or community events, local authority initiatives, talks, seminars or city-wide celebrations.

Wendy Ellyatt, chief executive of the Save Childhood Movement, which established NCDUK in 2014, said, ‘Children are our future - and protecting the health and well-being of children is everybody’s business. No matter what role we have in society, we need to work together to ensure that every child in the UK feels safe, loved, valued. If we want to create a more caring and compassionate world, we must start with children.’
