The purpose built nursery in Low Fell, Gateshead, was officially opened last weekend (24 March 2012).
The 108-place nursery, which is already half full, has created jobs for more than 30 people in the local area.
Set up seven years ago, the nursery group, which now has nine settings in the North-East of England, has expanded steadily, with plans to open another nursery next year. Seven of the group's settings have been graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
Kelly Walsh, area manager at Kids 1st, said, ‘We invest a lot of time and money into each of the nurseries we build and operate. However, we wouldn’t be able to offer such a high quality of childcare without the enthusiasm, passion and commitment of all of the staff. Opening a new nursery really is a team effort and I am proud to say that we have a fantastic team in place at Low Fell.’
