The 80-place setting has been operated by Alison and Brian Pulleyn since 2002. In its last Ofsted inspection it was rated good.

With the nursery acquisition, Kids Planet now operates 115 sites across the country.

Chief executive of Kids Planet Clare Roberts said, ‘I am delighted that we have completed on the wonderful Kinderbear nursery, after seeing many synergies with Kinderbear in the joint values for quality childcare provision and keeping children’s best interests at the heart of everything they do.

‘As a growing, dedicated group, and I am really excited to watch them integrate and develop and looking forward to supporting the nursery with their transition into our Kids Planet family.’

Former owners Alison and Brian Pulleyn said, ‘Selling our beloved Kinderbear was always going to be a wrench for us after 20 years in business, we never doubted that. However from the moment we met Kids Planet we felt an instant warmth. Despite being large, they have maintained a family values ethos that is close to our hearts and something we have always been proud of with our own nursery.’

The acquisition of Kinderbear Nursery by Kids Planet follows the purchase of Church House Day Nursery in Kidderminster and the Little Acorns (Huddersfield) Day Nursery group of three settings in West Yorkshire last month.
