Pushy parents are spending up to 150 on costumes for their child's school nativity play in an effort to make them the star of the show, said the Daily Mail. Rather than drape their child with a tea towel or a bit of tinsel, parents are buying designer bridesmaid dresses and glamorous costume jewellery.

A mother has called for a boycott of the Early Learning Centre shopsbecause she believes the 'pinkification' of their toys and clothes isdamaging little girls' development, reported the Daily Telegraph. Acampaign called Pinkstinks was founded by Emma Moore and her sister andis backed by former Government 'consumer tsar' Ed Mayo.
