A two-year-old was banned from eating cheese sandwiches at a nursery unless his parents added a lettuce leaf, according to the Daily Telegraph. Jack Ormisher was told by staff at Westfield Children's Centre in Pemberton, near Wigan, that his packed lunch violated its healthy eating policy as it did not include fruit or vegetables.

Children feel safer in the car when their mother is driving, accordingto a poll of 1,279 children aged five to 16 by breakdown cover firm GEMreported in the Daily Mail. Fathers were accused of driving too fast andbeing more aggressive.
