Social services bosses have complained that a TV series in which 20 children are left without supervision is child abuse and should be taken off the air, reported the Mirror. The Children's Services Authority said it had not been told in advance about 'Girls and Boys' on Channel 4.

A headteacher is being paid 60,000 to run a school that doesn'texist in a town with no pupils, said the Daily Mail. Only three peopleso far have moved into the Wixams, a new town development near Bedford.But Susan Vint was hired last month to take charge of Lakeview LowerSchool, which has not yet been built and may not be up and running untillate 2010.
