Lisa Potts, the former nursery nurse who was injured when she defended infant school children from a machete-wielding attacker in 1996, has been awarded an honorary degree by Wolverhampton University for her charity work, including making a police recruitment advert, reported the BBC.

The tooth fairy is the latest victim of the credit crunch, said theDaily Telegraph, reporting figures from milk producer Cravendale showingthat in the last six months the average amount left under a pillow for alost tooth has dropped from 1.22 to 87p, and 38 per cent ofBritish children now receive nothing in return.
