Pre-school cartoon character Dora the Explorer is facing a makeover amidcompetition from older, racier rivals, according to the Financial Times.The Nickelodeon children's television network has apparently beendiscussing a redesign of some Dora-themed toys and other merchandisethat would make the character appear more feminine, and it is alsoconsidering creating a group of Explorer Girls that would appeal toolder children.
