Camera film containers, which you can get from photograph developers, can be the inspiration for many craft activities. It's good practice to sterilise them before use in a solution of sterilising fluid (the type used for baby equipment). To make the head of the fairy, children screw up a small piece of paper and stick it to the bottom of the canister. Next, they cut out a circle of paper for a face, draw on features with felt tips, and stick this to the head. A couple of short pieces of wool or curling-ribbon can be added for hair. A triangle of card should be cut out for a dress, and stuck on to the front of the canister. A piece of bow-shaped pasta is added under the head, and finally, macaroni arms are secured into place.
