Applications are now open for young musicians who wish to join the National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain (NCO) in 2023.
Continuing its long-established national programme of orchestral residencies for ages 11-14-year-olds, NCO will also be launching a new Projects programme. This will entail residential orchestral weekends for 8-14-year-olds in Bolton, the Midlands and London.
All those who are aged 8-13, can play an orchestral instrument to an appropriate standard and are either British citizens or are living and studying in the UK, are invited to apply.
There is also a financial support programme available for those who need support to cover their membership fees.
Sophie Lewis, NCO chief executive, said: ‘We have been so inspired by the enthusiasm, creativity, hard work and resilience of the children who have taken part in NCO in 2022.
‘It has been a joy to bring them together to make music, to learn more about themselves and their instruments and to above all, have fun and make friends. It gives me great pleasure to launch auditions for 2023 and open NCO's doors to even more young musicians.’
Auditions are free, and can be submitted via a pre-recorded video.
