NDNA networks from Glasgow regional office

Scottish nurseries can benefit from extra regional support with the opening of a base in Glasgow by the National Day Nurseries Association.

NDNA Scotland was officially launched at a reception last week inEdinburgh, where the appointment of a part-time development officer,Jane Logie, was announced. Ms Logie's role is to help nurseriesthroughout Scotland build networks to share good practice and strengthentheir representation with local authorities and other organisations.

Reception guests also heard from speakers including Kathleen Marshall,Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People, and PurnimaTanuku, chief executive of the NDNA on how to strengthen the voice ofthe sector to influence policy development.

Ms Tanuku said, 'Much hard work from volunteers has gone into reachingthis point, and we are excited that we now not only have a physicalpresence with our new office base but also a development officer whowill be helping members to build networks.'
