Leanne Crooks, a childminder in Belper, Derbyshire, said she was relieved that the plan had been shelved. She said, 'The children in reception class would have come into our day numbers. This would mean that one of the young children would have to go by the school pick-up time so there would be a space for a five-year-old from reception.' She said this did not make business sense and could stop five-year-olds in reception being looked after by childminders.
