Ofsted has issued an enforcement action against the nursery in Finchley,north London, and declared that the registered person does not meet theNational Standards for daycare. The 75-place nursery also runs a crechewith 12 places. At the time of inspection 125 children were on theroll.
Inspectors criticised the staff's understanding of systems to limitcross-infection and said that children's 'health and well-being werecompromised'. They concluded, 'Both the management of care and themaintenance of the premises are inadequate and do not effectively takeaccount of the overall safety, welfare and development of children.'
A spokesman for Busy Bees said, 'We are disappointed with the inspectionoutcome. As a company committed to the well-being, care and safety ofthe children, we are working closely with Ofsted to rectify the issueshighlighted by the report. We are holding staff training sessions andsenior managers will be on site regularly to offer increasedsupport.
