Mr Green, who has three children of his own, said, 'I've always had agood rapport with children, and childcare was something I'd alwayswanted to do. I reached a time of life when I realised there were moreimportant things than making money, and management consulting wasn'tmuch of a life. I'd be away from home on business for five days aweek.

'I gave up my job and studied the National Certificate in Early YearsStudies at Somerset College and went on a lot of work placements andgained experience. I then set up a childminding business with a friendof mine last year, and officially opened Chester's House childcare thisyear.'

Mr Green extended his home to make room for the nursery in a separatearea of the house.

He adds, 'I've always worked hard, but childcare is hard work in adifferent way. It's very rewarding. We have a really good team of peopleand I enjoy the way we observe children and look at how they'redeveloping. I find it fascinating.'
