It is one of 61 schools in England to be granted teaching school status in the latest round.
Sheringham Nursery School and Children’s Centre’s headteacher Julian Grenier has been chosen as the school’s designed National Leader of Education (NLE), and the deputy headteacher, Lesley Webb, a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE).
Introduced in 2011, teaching schools work with partner schools and early years settings to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced teaching staff.
Their purpose is to raise standards through supporting other schools, engaging in research and development, and identifying and developing school leaders and future headteachers.
The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) has overall responsibility for teaching schools, which must all be graded outstanding and meet set eligibility criteria to apply for funding.
