
GRADUATION
Nurseries and early years settings across the country have organised graduation days to say a fond farewell to their pre-school children starting school next term.
Ceremonies were held at Grena Road Children's Day Nursery and Pre-School in Richmond, First Steps in Yateley, Hampshire (top), Sparklers Nursery in Castle Douglas, Scotland and Beech House Day Nursery in Huyton, Lancashire (bottom).

Children and staff from kidsunlimited Guildford Day Nursery at the University of Surrey became DJs for the day when they visited their local radio station Eagle Radio, which was touring towns within the county.
Nursery manager Leanne Henderson said, 'This was a unique opportunity as the Eagle Radio team was at the Surrey Sports Park, which is just five minutes up the road from us.
'The children were very excited to speak to the presenter Simon Rose, and the parents, along with nursery staff, were very proud to listen to them live on air.'
DO YOU BELIEVE IN FAIRIES?
Children at the Old School House Day Nursery in Sancton, East Yorkshire created a garden for fairies by using old tractor tyres, planting flowers and collecting 'fairy dust'. They also wrote letters to the fairies and held a special fairy-themed day.
WASPS' NEST
The pre-school children at Nursery on the Green in Frimley, Surrey were left fascinated when a member of staff brought in a wasps' nest they had found at home. The children were able to take a closer look at the nest using a magnifying class and described all the things they could see. Last month the nursery had its summer fete, with children, staff and families raising £623 for the setting's chosen charity, Make a Wish.
GOING GREEN
Castle Day Nursery in Worthing has been taking part in green activities alongside its forest school project. The children have visited their local recycling bins and charity shops, as well as welcoming an environmental officer to the setting to talk to them.
FUNNY FELT
Children from Lincolnshire Montessori were visited by textile artist Wendy Chan who taught them how to make felt pictures. The children's pictures inspired by the weather are displayed in the nursery and school.
INDEPENDENCE DAY
Pre-school children at Little Acorns Mirfield, West Yorkshire celebrated Independence Day on 4 July by creating American flags. One child, who attends the setting and is half-American, spoke to his peers about the country and how it celebrates the event.
