MINDED IN THE WOODS

Buckinghamshire Cluster Network, BCCN and Bucks Buddy childminders were invited by the NCMA to an outdoor event at Wendover Woods near Aylesbury. The 55 childminders and children they care for enjoyed activities such as collecting woodland objects and den building.

FIERY CELEBRATION

Children at Churchinford Daycare in Taunton, Somerset, celebrated their outstanding Ofsted result with a visit from White Watch fire brigade.

NEST BUILDING

Children at Footsteps Day Nursery in Stratford Upon Avon made their own bird nests in a forest school session. Forest school leader Laura Wakeham said, 'The children took a positive approach to making the bird nests and thoroughly enjoyed finding natural resources to create a home.'

MEET THE DENTISTS

Horseshoe Day Nursery in Esher, Surrey, had a visit by two parents who work as dentists to talk to the children about their profession.

SECOND OUTSTANDING

Staff at London Early Years Foundation's Queensborough Community Nursery in Westminster have celebrated being rated Outstanding by Ofsted for the second time.

DOWN ON THE FARM

Early Years Childcare in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, welcomed a special visitor to tie in with their project of On the Farm. Farmer Steve brought his red tractor and three of his sheep - one of which is named Elvis for its quiff.

FANCY CYCLISTS

Children, parents and staff at Wishing Willow Day Nursery and Pre-School in Banstead, Surrey, part of the Casterbridge group, completed an eight-hour cycle ride in fancy dress to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation. They used an exercise bike from a local gym, and children donated £1 to dress up, raising a total of £259.
